What is sifted maize? Whole maize meal flour – often referred to as grade two — is produced from milling the whole grain. Sifted maize flour like that found on supermarkets shelves, is milled after removing both the husk and the internal germ component.

Here, the sifted maize milling machines use roller technology to produce Grade One (G1) sifted flour. It semi-hulls and separates the grain from the germ and husks and produces a clean high quality flour. Sifted maize milling machines are popular in Lusaka,Mansa,Kitwe,Solwezi, Endola,Chingola,Chipata/Zambia.

Grade 1 Sifted Flour Mills are usually a combination of various components that use the Roller technology to produce high quality sifted flour. It is argued that the shelf-life of this flour is much longer than that of meal produced by traditional mills as a result of the removal of the germ.
